EVENT: Real Estate Seminar Focuses on Brexit and Changing Tax Treatment
Date: 19th July, 2017 Time: 06:00 pm - 09:00 pm
About one hundred members and their guests attended our evening seminar on real estate on 19 July. There were four speakers:
- Anthony Duggan, Partner and Head of Capital Markets Research at Knight Frank, who spoke about Brexit and the outlook for London property.
- Bassam Khazen, Commercial Real Estate Advisor at National Bank of Kuwait (International) who spoke about the 'Do's' and 'Don'ts' of investing in alternative sectors such as student housing, care homes and storage facilities.
- Maisam Fazal, Head of Commercial Finance at Al Rayan Bank, who spoke about Islamic finance and the real estate market.
- Andrew Sneddon, Partner at Trowers and Hamlins, who spoke about UK property investment and the changing tax landscape.
All of their presentations are atttached below.
The seminar was introduced and moderated by Alan Grey, Manager of Property Finance at National Bank of Abu Dhabi's London branch.
As always at these events, a lively discussion followed the presentations, and this was followed by a buffet dinner during which participants were able to mix informally with the speakers and other members of the London Arab banking community.
The photograph shows Andrew Sneddon giving his presentation. More photographs can be seen in the 'Gallery'.
