EVENT: Seminar: Real Estate in Times of Brexit

Our annual real estate seminar will be held on Wednesday 10 July at our offices in Upper Grosvenor Street. 

The seminar will be delivered by: 

Liam Bailey, Global Head of Research , Knight Frank, whose presentation: 

London Residential - outlook for 2019 will examine the current state of the London prime market and  the outlook for pricing and demand across the different market segments. Liam will also place London in a global context and will look at parallels with other markets such as New York and Hong Kong. 

Bassam Khazen, Manager, Commercial Real Estate Investments, National Bank of Kuwait (Int’l) Plc, whose presentation: 

Cash-on-Cash investors: London vs. the regions will address the increase in numbers of cash-on-cash overseas investors, the sectors they target and the opportunities that exist in London and beyond.  

Nathan Williams, Partner, Corporate Tax, Trowers and Hamlins LLP, whose presentation: 

The new NRCT rules – the impact on overseas investors in UK property will provide an overview of the new UK tax on gains arising to non-residents from the direct and indirect disposals of UK land and interests in UK property rich entities, including real estate funds and what overseas investors and those funding investors need to be aware of. 

Trevor Norman , Director, Islamic Finance and Funds Group, VG, whose presentation: 

Structuring commercial real estate - with an Islamic overlay will cover differences in Shariah-compliant ownership structures for UK commercial real estate, a discussion on trends in the investment activities of his clients, a brief discussion of the recent changes in CGT for non-resident investors, and some thoughts on how real estate structures may look in the future. 

Andrew Jones, Director of Special Projects, Battersea Power Station development Company, whose presentation: 

Battersea Power Station – its Past, Present and Future will provide an overview of Europe’s largest regeneration project including its fascinating history and the work being done to transform this part of London’s riverside into one of the most exciting, well connected new neighbourhoods of the future. 

The Seminar will be moderated by: 

George Kanaan, Chief Executive Officer, Arab Bankers Association.

Registration fees are £20 for Individual and Young Professional Members, and £50 for non-members. It is free for Associate Members.
