EVENT: Rescue Culture: The UK Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill
Date: 1st October, 2020 Time: 03:00 pm - 04:00 pm
Mishcon de Reya will present a webinar that will address the UK Insolvency and Governance Bill.
In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK is likely to experience a dramatic rise in insolvencies. The Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill, which is expected to be enacted in Parliament shortly, is the most substantive modification of UK insolvency legislation of the last 20 years. It contains a number of both temporary and permanent changes to insolvency legislation, with the overarching aim of promoting a rescue culture and protecting businesses, which have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
Topics to be covered in this webinar will include:
- The introduction of a new moratorium process intended to allow companies time to restructure
- The new procedure designed to allow companies to restructure debt arrangements
- The restriction on the use of statutory demands and winding up petitions for a prescribed period.
The webinar will be presented by: Raza Khan, Legal Director at Mishcon de Reya
